Summer season is at its peak. Everything seems like burning, and it is better to stay inside rather than going out and get sick. The hot temperature isn’t always pleasant and relaxing inside the home. They can be particularly problematic in the house. Especially floors that turn very hot, some carpets are great to use in winter as they keep your floor warm, but in summers they might become nightmares.
We all love our floors and nowadays custom flooring are quite trendy, we want everything unique in our interiors without discriminating between floors, walls, curtains or carpets. Some floors like carpets tend to get hotter fast, and some take the time you at the end of the day you may feel a bit discomforting to lay foot on the bare floor. Floors are not installed daily, so it is not possible that when it starts getting hot, you switch to some other floor. Floors are made with a material which lasts longer and remains durable.
The first thing you can do is always try to install floors which work best according to your city weather. For instance, if you are trying to have a rubber floor at your home and the climate of your area is ordinarily hot, then it is not at all a good idea. Same wise, a wooden floor is not the right choice in places with the wet season.
Every flooring has different needs. The tips here will help you keep your floor cooler in this hot season.
Choose the right curtain:
You cannot change the floor every season, but you can easily change curtains seasonally. Install curtains or blinds which stop light from entering into your room. Blackout curtains will keep the floor more relaxed for a long time—no sun interaction, no hotness, no war tiles. Choose blinds which filter light or block its entrance. Also, make sure the colors choice is right. A curtain with light colors and blackout features is an excellent choice for summer.
Keep the room airy:
It is a good habit to keep curtains close to keep light away, but if possible, make sure to open windows and curtains during evening time. That will let the fresh air enter into your rooms and keep the floor cold. If curtains and shutters remain closed for a longer time, it will work hard for new air to enter in place and may cause suffocation and breathing problems.
Swipe the floor regularly:
If your floor is made of wood or tiles then that might become a plus point, you can mop the floor daily. It will give a more refreshing feeling for a long time.
Avoid continuous air conditioning:
AC’s are blessings for the summer season, but they can be proved disastrous for some types of floors like hardwood, and health. Continuous use can also damage its life, not to mention a hefty bill. It is better to set some hours and after that, keep curtains and doors closed. That way, cooling will last in the room for a longer time, and your floors will remain more relaxed than before.
Make the room a roomy place:
Heavy electric appliances also cause room temperature to rise high. Try to change the setting of the room and let the floor breath in and breathe out. Too much stuff in one place and electric equipment create hotness in the room so, if you remove some unnecessary stuff and shift into some other room that will leave a significant amount of roomy place which helps the floor to keep cooler in hot summer.
Change carpets:
If it is possible for you then try to uninstall the heavy carpets and keep them in store for a season. You can install rugs instead. If not fit new mats on carpets like Kilims and patchwork rugs are made of fabrics which give you a more relaxed experience. Wood is naturally more cooling material if you remove carpet than you will get more relaxed feet experience.
Let’s put it together:
There are many ways which help to give you a cooler floor in hot summer. You might not have to put so much effort in following these tips if you have selected the type of floor while keeping the climate of the place in your mind.
