Basic Things Needed to be Followed While Having a New Kitten at Home

It’s important to ensure people are ready before bringing a kitten into their home. This will help them make a less traumatic transition for their new cat. Here are some basic guidelines to follow when they have a new kitten at home. People will need to transport their kitten in a carrier when going on the road. This will protect the kitten and give them a sense of security. Because travelling with a kitten might be frightening, ensure sure the carrier is spacious and well-ventilated. To provide a familiar aroma to the kitten, line the bottom with a towel from a previous home or shelter. Also, ensure that their carrier is safe and easy to clean.

  • Food and water bowls- Because the kitten has a lot of energy, choose dishes that will not easily turn over. Because some kittens are allergic to plastic, choose a material that is easy to clean, such as stainless steel. To keep things fresh, people will want to wash kitten food and water bowls daily. A kitten needs plenty of clean, freshwater as well.
  • Collar, Harness, and Leash- A cat harness or leash can be an excellent training tool for their kitten. If this is something people are considering, a harness is probably the best option, as kittens despise the feel of a leash. Make sure their kitten is constantly wearing a lightweight material collar with an identification tag. Allow the kitten to wear one from the start to get used to the sensation.
  • Scratching Post- Cats do not utilise scratching posts to sharpen their claws, contrary to popular perception. They utilise it to get some exercise, brush dead scales off their nails, and visually and with scent identify their territory. To encourage their cat to learn to scratch, get a scratching post right away. The scratching post should be robust and tall enough for their kitten to fully stretch out. As soon as their kitten arrives, teach them to scratch on the scratching post. Encourage the kitten to utilise the post by playing with it frequently, next to it, or around it. Then, when the kitty feels the need to stretch, they can do so on the post rather than on their furniture.
  • Toys- Because kittens are naturally curious, they require toys that are both safe and enjoyable to play with. Choose toys designed specifically for cats that won’t split, tear apart, or be ingested. A rattling celluloid ball, a catnip mouse, or a hard rubber mouse is ideal. Some cat toys should only be used when the owner is playing with their kitten to prevent injuries.

Avoid anything that can break off with tough sharp points. Be careful about toys, like ornaments of Christmas trees. Be careful not to swallow her anything as small as buttons, beads or paper clips. Keep their cat away from soft rubber, fur, wool, sponge, or polyurethane children’s toys. It could cause stomach difficulties if the kitty swallows even a very small particle. Avoid all toys which can be swallowed with squeakers. So please visit https://www.internetvibes.net/2021/06/14/how-to-survive-the-first-few-weeks-with-your-new-kitten/  for more information.
